McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Peninsula
Only a thirty minute drive south of Adelaide will find you in McLaren Vale,
the gateway to the Fleurieu Peninsula. Your eyes will be led from bare hills
sweeping down to sandy beaches, from patchwork pastures to orchards
and vineyards. Gourmet temptations are at every corner, with the superb
wines complemented by the freshest fruit, seafood, cheese, chocolate and
coffee money can buy.
Currency Creek is a magical place, with the Coorong National Park on
its doorstep and fine wineries and restaurants to savour. McLaren Vale is
the best known and most established of the sub-regions, famed for its big,
robust red wines.
