Mudgee

The charming, historic town of Mudgee is less than a four-hour drive from Sydney, via the scenic Blue Mountains, and has been 'discovered' as a perfect short break destination by people who like great food and wine.

Mudgee was the first region in Australia to plant and grow chardonnay and merlot grapes and today the region’s fertile farmland is the source of not only its famed premium red wines, but also excellent Semillon, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as Italian, Spanish and French varietals. The wine producers are mostly boutique, which means that many of the wines you’ll experience are not available on bottle shop shelves.
