The cellar door to Granite Ridge Wines has been open since late 1996. In this time it has produced Queensland’s best Cabernet two years in succession. Their Goldies Unwooded Chardonnay has been given the distinction of selection as the official Parliamentary Wine of the Parliament of Queensland — the first time in history that a Queensland wine has been awarded this status. Dennis Ferguson founded the winery in 1995 and the first vintage produced one trophy and two medals — an outstanding result for the fledgling vineyard. His success has continued and now the wines produced continue to grow in stature and flavour. Granite Ridge Wines is a boutique winery that is starting to make an impact on the wider Australian wine-making map. Granite Ridge Wines is one in over 6 participating wineries that make up the Queensland wine experience known as the Cellar Door Pass. |
